Community-organized programs meet the needs of specific groups and strengthen the fabric of a community. At Prepare, we collaborate with local organizations, nonprofits, and community centers to bring the same evidence-based frameworks used in our school-based and public classes to a wider audience.

These workshops go beyond individual learning—they create a collective culture of confidence, safety, and respect. When an entire community increases its protective factors and builds resilience, the effect ripples outward, enhancing the well-being of everyone connected to it.

Programs can be customized to reflect each community’s priorities and can focus on topics such as:

  • communication and boundary setting
  • team building
  • self-defense
  • de-escalation
  • bystander/allyship skills
  • healthy relationships.

CUSTOMIZED PROGRAMMING
Ideally, groups are limited to 16 students.

Children’s Village has engaged Prepare for over two decades, working with their Safe Harbor program for youth who have been trafficked or exploited.

Youth-facing organizations like Girl Scouts and religious youth groups engage Prepare for self-defense and personal safety.

Early childhood education programs hire Prepare to deliver its Parent, Caregiver, and Educator workshop so that parents and faculty are up to date on best practices to reduce Child Sexual Assault.

The instructors fostered a very strong group bonding and wonderfully supportive environment. They provided superb instruction, and I value all that I have learned.” LM, graduate

PRIVATE TRAINING
Private training is available for small groups of up to 4 people.

Private classes are an option for people who want one-on-one training or a very small (2 – 4 person) group experience. Generally, we recommend group classes as it is a faster way to learn and you benefit from both your own practice and from watching others. They are also more economical.

Private training may be right for you if:

  • your schedule will never match a public class schedule
  • you have a very specific situation(s) you want to address
  • there is an urgent reason to begin training immediately
  • after discussion with the office, we agree that accommodations in our public classes won’t be sufficient to address any specific or particular needs you have
  • you want to continue to work on individual goals after completing a group class.

“When my 16-year-old daughter decided to spend a month backpacking on the Appalachian Trail with a friend, I reached out to Prepare. The instructors were supportive and thoughtful about the risks they might encounter and customized the training accordingly. They enjoyed the session, and it left both kids feeling better prepared for their big adventure.” Justin R, parent

Communities see real change
“You and your team over-delivered in every way. I am so very grateful to all of you at Prepare Inc. for empowering our daughters with the tools they need to protect themselves from sexual harassment and assault.”

– Christiane Baker

“Friendly, warm, and knowledgeable, they create the best conditions for learning but also internalizing. They provided an invaluable service.”

– Interfaith Rotating Shelter

“They delivered the material in a way that was intersectional, culturally informed, and connected with the population they were serving.”

– The Children’s Village Safe Harbor Program

“I have been hearing only positive feedback from everyone in the group. Thank you so much for coming in. I can’t tell you how valuable everyone thought the Introductory Workshop was.”

– Hannah Kohn, Co-Chair, Drew Univ Feminist Union
